The second day of the Powertage began with an inspiring keynote speech by Rudolf Meier, President of CIGRE CH and Managing Director of EnerTrans. Meier emphasised the importance of knowledge management and active exchange of experience for the energy transition and called for intensive use of the CIGRE.org platform.

In the further course of the specialist forum, which was organised under the patronage of Electrosuisse, important trends and challenges in the industry were highlighted. Steffen Lamparter from Siemens AG addressed the potential and risks of current AI technologies. Roger Wirth from Swissgrid highlighted the urgent need for new approaches in cyber defence in order to do justice to increasing digitalisation. Luc Tschumper from Swiss E-Mobility predicted that there will be around 2 million electric vehicles on the road in Switzerland in the next 10-15 years. He emphasised the importance of a comprehensive charging infrastructure, the integration of renewable energies and grid stability for a reliable energy supply.

The Powertage exhibition also attracted a pleasing number of visitors. Innovative products that are driving the future of the industry were presented at the exhibitor stands and there was a lively exchange of ideas. Numerous players from the Swiss electricity industry used the traditional Electrosuisse Power Party in the evening as an ideal networking platform. They toasted to a delicious Italian menu and good company. The highlight of the evening was the anniversary cake, which was served to mark the 20th anniversary of the Powertage and rounded off the day perfectly.
