Optonet AG was founded in 1994. By 1999, the company's workforce had grown to 25 employees. After its foundation, Optonet initially focused on the production of passive components for fibre optic networks. In 2003, the portfolio was expanded to include the integration of active components. Since then, the company has offered the creation of complete fibre optic networks.
