Forum: Inspiration Session Powertage 2024

Secure power supply with renewable energies: How do we set the right course?

Power grids are the backbone of a secure power supply. Expanding the scope of renewable energies with solar, hydro & wind power, however, also requires the further development of the grid. To achieve this, we need to set the right framework conditions now. The VSE patronage will provide answers.

At the Powertage forum on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, Korad Zöschg, Head of Technology and member of the Executive Board of Swissgrid, will get to the heart of the matter. In his keynote speech “Innovation & digitalization in the transmission grid”, Konrad Zöschg will use concrete examples to show why Swissgrid is continuing to develop its grid in an innovative and digitalized way and why this is of central importance for successfully implementing the transformation of the energy system. You can look forward to it!

The subsequent panel discussion will focus on the national course that will be set by the vote on the Electricity Act on 9 June 2024. Together with Konrad Zöschg, Jan Flückiger, Secretary General of the Energy Directors of the Cantons EndK, Michael Frank, Director of VSE, and Benoît Revaz, Director of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, will take part in the panel discussion.

The event will be hosted by Rolf Schmid.

The first day of the Powertage event, designed and organized together with VSE, will kick off with a performance by “The Blackouts”. These Swiss performance artists combine music, dance, acrobatics and innovative lighting effects with state-of-the-art LED technology. We are delighted to be able to present this performance to you as part of the 20th anniversary of the Powertage.
