Accelerating the Energy Transition: Success Factors in Practice – TRANSFORMATION
The energy transition is underway – yet projects are being delayed by regulatory processes, lack of public acceptance, and complex collaboration challenges. On the third day of the forum, transformation takes centre stage: How can these obstacles be overcome? And what can we concretely learn from successful examples?
Renewable energy projects exist at the intersection of regulatory procedures, competing interests, and time pressure. This is precisely where the forum steps in: at the concrete, day-to-day level of the energy transformation.
Drawing on selected Swiss projects, we will examine what works, where the challenges lie, and which factors make the decisive difference – with the goal of significantly increasing the pace of implementation.
The programme opens with the Uri Wind Farm. Those responsible for the project will demonstrate how it was realised in a demanding environment – and what role communication, public acceptance, and collaboration played in its success. This is followed by the Papieri Cham hydropower plant, which illustrates how existing infrastructure can be further developed and harnessed for the energy transition. The alpine solar project Morgeten serves as a model for new approaches to expanding photovoltaics and the potential of innovative installations in mountain terrain.
The presentations make one thing clear: successful projects are not born from technology alone, but from the interplay of stakeholders, processes, and framework conditions. The forum brings these experiences together and connects them across projects.
The closing panel will contextualise and consolidate the insights gained. The central question will be: How do we move from individual lighthouse projects to broad, effective implementation of the energy transition across Switzerland? The expertise of participants will be networked and new impulses jointly developed – with the concrete aim of advancing the transformation.
