Sustainable Energy Future: Research and Strategies at the CEE
The ZHAW Center for Energy and the Environment (CEE) addresses economic and business management issues related to energy and the environment. Learn more about our research on climate strategies and policy instruments for a sustainable future.
Economic Solutions for Tomorrow's Energy Challenges
Combating climate change and providing clean, affordable energy are among the greatest societal challenges of our time. The Center for Energy and the Environment (CEE) at the ZHAW School of Management and Law is dedicated to these topics on both national and international levels.
Our Research Priorities
We investigate how policy and regulatory instruments must be designed to:
- Promote the use of renewable energy sources.
- Save energy efficiently.
- Effectively reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Knowledge Transfer into Practice
Our findings flow directly into teaching and continuing education, for example in the CAS Climate Strategies. We also work closely with partners from industry and administration and are an active member of the Swiss Carbon Removal Platform.
Through our expertise in empirical methods – from statistical approaches to field experiments – we provide a sound basis for decision-making for an electricity market with a high proportion of renewable energies.
"We want to make our contribution to fighting climate change and securing a sustainable energy supply." – Prof. Regina Betz, PhD, Head of the Center.
