At our booth, we are presenting a modern network architecture based on the Extreme Networks Fabric in combination with Aginode switches that support Fabric Attach. The solution relies on Shortest Path Bridging (SPB), allowing all connections within the network to be utilized actively. Since traditional loop prevention mechanisms like Spanning Tree are no longer required, this ensures stable transmission paths, efficient load balancing, and clear, deterministic path selection.
The technical highlights of the environment include:
Automated Integration: The integration of Aginode switches is carried out via Fabric Attach. Edge devices are automatically detected, assigned the correct services, and integrated into the fabric without manual intervention.
Centralized Management: ExtremeCloud IQ – Site Engine is used for orchestration. This platform allows switches to be consistently monitored, configured, and updated throughout their entire lifecycle.
Secure Access Control (NAC): Additionally, the environment demonstrates the use of ExtremeControl. End devices are verified via MAC authentication or EAP-TLS. Once authentication is successful, the appropriate VLAN is assigned automatically.
Dynamic Provisioning: The fabric independently provides VLANs along the required path. Manual configuration adjustments on individual switches are eliminated, creating a consistent, segmented, and easily scalable structure.
The presented solution offers a detailed insight into automated network concepts with reduced operational effort, high reliability, and consistently managed access control.
