Our expanded portfolio of transformer oils includes the synthetic and natural esters from the Shell MIDEL range, as well as the isoparaffinic gas-to-liquid (GTL) transformer oils from the Shell Diala product line.

Extending the service life of transformers
Shell Diala and Shell MIDEL 7131 are characterized by excellent oxidation stability. This helps prevent the formation of acids and sludge, enabling reliable and long-lasting transformer operation.
Shell MIDEL esters also offer high moisture tolerance and can absorb significantly more water than conventional mineral oils without compromising their dielectric properties. Since moisture accelerates cellulose degradation and therefore reduces transformer life, this plays a key role in extending service life – especially in humid environments.
Performance in cold temperatures
Shell MIDEL 7131 and Shell Diala S4 ZX-I have very low pour points, supporting reliable operation in extremely cold environments.
