Pin Magazine for Smart Meters
The pin magazine allows pre-assembled meter pins to be easily inserted into a smart meter. When removing the magazine, it is immediately apparent if all screws have been tightened, ensuring a reliable and error-free installation process for smart metering systems.
When installing smart meters with meter plug terminals, the meter must be equipped with meter pins. For efficient installation, the pins should be mounted quickly and without errors. Pin assembly gauges are often used: the pins are inserted into the gauge, which is placed on the meter, and the pins are fixed with screws. The pin assembly gauge is then removed. If a screw has been forgotten – the most common error – this pin will remain in the gauge. You can see at a glance whether the pins have been mounted correctly.
For some time now, pin sets have been available: the pins are pre-assembled on a plastic strip. This eliminates the need to insert the pins into the gauge. However, it also eliminates the check for whether all screws have been tightened. The pin magazine developed by eweco combines the advantages of both variants: the pins are pre-assembled and well protected in the pin magazine, which is placed directly on the meter. After assembly, the magazine is removed and you have control over whether all screws have been tightened.
