Forecasting Tools for Energy and Efficiency

Forecasts of energy flows, consumption, and production are becoming increasingly important. Future demands and expectations seem to know no bounds. We at Girsberger Informatik AG have over 15 years of experience with forecasting systems. With SILOVEDA® FORECAST and the forecasting service LOADMAP® SERVICE, we create short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts for energy types such as electricity, gas, heat, water, or combinations thereof. Our customers use these forecasts for improved planning of purchasing and sales, structured procurement, minimizing balancing energy costs, optimizing self-production, avoiding peak loads (peak shaving), photovoltaic forecasts at minute intervals, and much more.

LOADMAP® SERVICE for Reliable Forecasts

Continuously evolving, Girsberger Informatik AG has been operating a service for precise energy forecasts with high availability since 2003. The LOADMAP® SERVICE generates forecasts for electricity, gas, and district heating demand for energy suppliers, as well as for drinking water consumption. The system takes regional weather forecasts into account and delivers daily—weekends and holidays included—load or production profiles for the next seven days. This highly reliable service is ideal for municipal and regional utilities that aim to implement production or procurement planning efficiently and worry-free. The LOADMAP® SERVICE is also used for medium-term (weeks to months) and long-term (up to several years) forecasts, as illustrated in the diagram.

SILOVEDA® FORECAST – Toolbox for Smart Model Building

If customers wish to create and manage forecasts themselves, the SILOVEDA® measurement and energy data management system is extended with the SILOVEDA® FORECAST module. This module offers function blocks for forecast models that require no programming or mathematical expertise. For unlimited modeling, additional functions and math suites such as Matlab, Python, or R can be integrated and used. This allows for the creation, integration, and/or automation of custom, highly complex models and mathematical functions.
