CAS Sustainable Smart Cities & Regions - Data, Energy, and Mobility:
In this CAS, you will deal with the holistic and sustainable development concept of Smart Cities & Regions in a practical way. This continuing education programme teaches you how sustainable technologies and behaviours can be used to conserve resources and improve quality of life with the involvement of the population - with a particular focus on data, energy and mobility issues. You will learn about innovative approaches, methods and strategies. At the end of the CAS, you will be able to successfully launch and implement smart city initiatives.

ZHAW Centre for Energy and Environment (CEE): CAS Climate Strategy:

The Federal Council has set the target of net zero: Net zero 2050. What does this mean for companies, municipalities, cantons and other organisations? What physical and regulatory changes will they have to deal with? What opportunities and challenges will arise? How can the transformation succeed? In the CAS Climate Strategies, you will develop scientifically sound, tailor-made and tried-and-tested strategies for achieving the net zero target for your own or a selected organisation.

ZHAW Center for Energy and Environment (CEE): Continuing education on smart grid strategies:

Smart meters and other smart grid technologies offer opportunities for innovative business models that help to plan and operate energy systems and grids more efficiently. Our continuing education programme provides an overview of relevant technologies, use cases, legal principles and current trends in order to develop a smart grid strategy for your company.

Further education opportunities at the IET Institute of Energy Technology: The IET Institute of Energy Technology offers further education programmes on the topics of flow simulation, hydrogen and CO2, as well as machine learning. Wind energy, electromagnetic simulations and building technology are further areas of research.

Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH

Flexibility provision in Switzerland's future sector-coupled energy system: Switzerland's transition to carbon neutrality requires balancing seasonal energy supply and demand. This presentation explores the flexibility of integrated power, hydrogen, and methane infrastructure to meet this challenge while adhering to national sustainability and security policies. We highlight the need for significant renewable capacity expansion, energy trades for cost-efficiency, and hydrogen and methane storage for energy security.

CSEM - Swiss Technology Innovation Centre:

High-resolution PV forecasting: A limitation of modern approaches to photovoltaic (PV) power forecasting is that it requires precise, high spatial and temporal resolution, a high computational and storage effort. CSEM has developed a PV forecasting approach to overcome these limitations. The lecture will be held in English.
